PureRobotics™ - Robotic Pipeline Inspection

PureRobotics uses powerful modular robotic pipeline inspection systems that can be configured to inspect virtually any pipe application 16-inches (30.5 centimeters) and larger.

Capable of performing multi-sensor inspections in dry pipe or while submerged, the PureRobotics pipeline inspection system can travel a total of 3 miles (5 Kilometers) from a single point of access.

How it works

PureRobotics pipeline inspection systems are depth-rated, remotely-operated tracked vehicles tethered by a fiber optic cable. The inspection system consists of a modular, long-range, multi-sensor vehicle that is capable of providing a wide variety of high quality data, including:

  • High definition digital pan-tilt-zoom closed circuit television (CCTV)
  • High speed pipe-profiling SONAR
  • Laser profiling and LIDAR with 3D reporting capabilities
  • PureEM™ electromagnetic sensors for assessing the structural integrity of pipelines
  • Inertial Mapping using modular high-end Inertial Navigation System (INS)
  • Additional sensors or technologies that can be integrated based on customer requirements

City of Rockville - Robotic Inspection

A robotic pipeline inspection of a critical 24-inch prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP) transmission line for the for the City of Rockville’s Department of Public Works (DPW). The City’s single 10 mile-long transmission main system traverses from the Potomac River to the Rockville city limits before branching off into the water distribution network.
