Near Real-Time Risk Assessment
Near real time monitoring and risk assessment provides pipeline managers the most advanced, reliable methodology to manage critical large diameter PCCP mains.

If corrosion or hydrogen embrittlement or improper operations affect the condition of a main, the strength of a PCCP section will degrade with time. To manage the changing risk with PCCP mains, Pure has developed a near real time web site to report, analyze, and manage ongoing risk. The site incorporates the results of the SoundPrint AFO technology to update wire break estimates on a pipe so that a pipeline manager will always know the condition and risk of a pipe. All this information is available to the pipeline manager by simply entering a username and password.
Monitoring Wire Breaks with SoundPrint® AFO
The SoundPrint AFO monitoring systems and electromagnetic inspection technologies provide wire break information to the risk assessment process. By combining these two inspection methods, pipeline managers can ascertain the baseline assessment of the pipe and the rate of deterioration. If a pipe degrades, risk is re-calculated, and flags are raised as a pipe section meets user defined risk criteria.
Several Pure Technologies clients have responded to alerts generated by the Near Real Time Risk Assessment system to implement emergency risk mitigation measure to avert failures of the PCCP mains.
