Bridges

Fred Hartman Bridge - Structural Monitoring

After the Fred Hartman Bridge was completed in 1995, large-amplitude vibrations of the cables were observed. Following comprehensive testing, TxDOT installed a SoundPrint® Acoustic Monitoring System to monitor any wire break activity occuring within the stays.

Waldo-Hancock Bridge - Structural Monitoring

In order to ensure the future safety of the bridge, Maine DOT commissioned Pure Technologies to install a SoundPrint® acoustic monitoring system to detect and locate any future wire breaks. The SoundPrint system utilized wireless sensors to monitor both main cables from anchorage to anchorage.
