Project Engineer I/II

Position Title: Project Engineer I/II

Reports To: Engineering Manager, Engineering Services

Location: Columbia, MD

Pure Technologies, a leader in the field of water and wastewater pipeline inspection and assessment, is searching for a motivated civil engineer to be a part of the engineering services group in the Columbia, Maryland office. Pure Technologies is an internationally focused company dedicated to providing state-of-the-art condition assessments, non-destructive testing, and structural monitoring for water and wastewater pipelines.

The successful candidate will be an Engineering-in-Training (EIT), preferably with knowledge of pipe design, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, and hydraulics. Structural engineering, hydraulic engineering, or condition assessment experience and/or coursework in these fields is a plus. A graduate degree in civil engineering is preferred, but not essential.

REQUIREMENTS

Communication Skills: Possesses basic oral and written communication skills. Interacts with staff, general public, clients, and contractors. Strong team player.

Travel: Must be able to periodically travel within North America.

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

A Project Engineer I/II shall develop knowledge and skills pertaining to project tasks and assignments applying education, training, and/or experience to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment. Specific knowledge will be developed in technology based pipeline management projects/programs working under the direction of senior staff. Performs routine technical work that requires limited previous experience.

DUTIES OF POSITION

  • Collects data and gathers information or documents
  • Reviews project plans and documents
  • Develops planning documents under supervision of senior staff
  • Performs inspection services using various assessment techniques and technologies
  • Performs standard data analysis and calculations
  • Assists senior staff in the development of draft technology and/or engineering reports

EXPERIENCE

One (1) to three (3) years
